Chocolate Pound Cake

Well, of course! Sour cream is one of my favorite ingredient guarantees for moist cake. I've been craving a pound cake, with chocolate, and here it is.
This is one of the most perfectly looking pound cakes ever. The slices are so, so pretty, and I”m sure delicious!


Chocolate Pound Cake

Ingredients


  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 Tbsp espresso powder
  • wet ingredients
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • dry ingredients
  • 1 cup plus 2 Tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • ganache topping
  • 3/4 cup heavy cream
  • 6 ounces dark chocolate chips (or chopped chocolate)


Instructions

  1. Set oven to 325F
  2. Spray a standard 9x5 loaf pan and line it with a sheet of parchment paper, leaving the ends to hang long. This way you can lift the frosted cake out for cleaner cutting.
